      Physical appearance in Latin America plays a big role in the social and political structure. As it has been for quite a while, a western European physical appearance is much preferred rather than a native indigenous one. Because of this there is shame if your happen to have a cara de indio or an Indians face.
      The people represented in these portraits are examples of those who resist the oppressing ideas that we have been forcefully woven in our ruanas, in our chuyos, or in our molas. Presenting to the world themselves as proud and aware of who they are.
      As a work in progress this becomes a testament to the never ending resistance of indigenous people of the Americas.
